Title: Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP)
Agency: U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)
Deadline: May 4, 2026

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of the Secretary has announced a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP), a competitive grant program that provides financial assistance to help small and underserved communities enhance their air service and improve connectivity to the national air transportation system. The program makes $12 million in total funding available, with no local match required, although applications that include state or local cash contributions are viewed more favorably. Eligible applicants are public entities only, including individual communities and consortia, and communities without existing commercial air service may also apply, provided the airport serving the community is no larger than a small-hub airport. Grant funds may be used to subsidize new or expanded service by a U.S. air carrier for up to three years, help an underserved airport restore or obtain service, or support other eligible measures such as marketing, promotion, and improved utilization of airport facilities, though airport capital improvement projects and Essential Air Service communities are not eligible. Applications are due May 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM EDT.
