The Build America Center at Purdue University is launching a nationwide survey to understand how local transportation agencies, including counties, cities & towns, MPOs/RTPOs, toll authorities, and transit agencies, are using and exploring innovative financing techniques (IFTs). If you are an officer or professional associated with any of these agencies, we invite you to spare 10–15 minutes to share your experience.
Your input will directly inform a national guidebook and technical assistance resources tailored specifically for local agencies – an effort that has not previously been undertaken at this scale. This survey also serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, helping identify real-world practices, barriers, and needs to strengthen transportation funding and project delivery nationwide.
First round of responses requested by February 28, 2026.
