IIJA Grant Spotlight Video Series

The IIJA Grant Spotlight Video Series showcases success stories from local governments and communities that have transformed their transportation infrastructure with the support of the Build America Center (BAC). Each episode in this series highlights a different community that has received technical assistance throughout the grant writing process, successfully secured Federal funding, and is now poised to implement innovative transportation initiatives. These stories serve as inspiring examples of how targeted support and expert guidance can turn bold visions into reality.

At the Build America Center, we provide state and local agencies, metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), and tribal governments with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate the complexities of Federal Grants. Since our inception in April 2022, we have assisted numerous partners with fund navigation, grant applications, and data support—ensuring that vital infrastructure projects receive the funding they deserve. Our video series is designed not only to celebrate these achievements but also to offer practical insights and strategies that other communities can apply to their own projects.

The series spotlights a range of grant programs, each targeting specific areas of transportation and infrastructure innovation. Some of these include:

  • Bus/Bus Facilities: Supports local transportation agencies in upgrading and expanding their bus fleets and related infrastructure, enhancing the efficiency and safety of public transit.
  • RAISE: The Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity grant backs projects that improve the resilience and efficiency of transportation networks while promoting sustainable development.
  • Safe Streets & Roads for All (SS4A): Invests in comprehensive safety improvements to reduce traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries, ensuring safer streets for all residents.
  • SMART: Encourages innovative approaches to transportation by supporting projects that leverage technology and creative financing to tackle critical transit challenges.
  • Wildlife Crossing Pilot Funding: Protects both human and animal lives by funding projects that create safe passages for wildlife, reducing the risk of animal-vehicle collisions.

By highlighting these diverse programs and the tangible impacts they have had on communities nationwide, our IIJA Grant Spotlight Video Series offers a wealth of insights for any state or local agency, MPO, or tribal government looking to elevate their infrastructure projects. We invite you to explore these stories, learn from our successes, and discover how the BAC’s technical assistance can help you secure the funding necessary to transform your community’s transportation landscape.
