DESCRIPTION:
Over the last few years, the Build America Center (BAC) has led a series of initiatives aimed at promoting clarity and consistency in Value for Money (VfM) analysis across U.S. infrastructure. These include the development of the Generally Accepted VfM Analysis Principles (2023) and the VfM Analysis Standards(2025).
Building on these efforts, the BAC has developed Value for Money Analysis Practices in U.S. Infrastructure, a compendium documenting how VfM analyses have been conducted in practice across major U.S. transportation projects. Drawing on publicly available VfM analyses, the document illustrates the range of approaches observed in practice and is intended as a practical reference for public agencies conducting VfM analyses, advisors supporting them, federal reviewers assessing compliance, and researchers studying the state of the practice.
To introduce this new document and gather input from practitioners across the U.S., we would like to invite you to participate in one of three virtual workshops. These sessions will provide an opportunity to present the learn more about the document’s content, exchange perspectives and experiences, and discuss additional questions or challenges related to VfM analysis that may be relevant to the effort.
If you are interested in participating, please register indicating your availability for the proposed workshop dates. We are offering three sessions to accommodate participants’ availability. Please note that you only need to attend one workshop, as the content will be the same across all three sessions. Additional details, including confirmed workshop times and meeting links, will be shared with registered participants.
