Event Description

The BATIC Institute Public-Private Partnership Community of Practice (P3 COP) met to discuss the initial findings of a recent FHWA Center for Innovative Finance Support rapid-response research project examining force majeure terms in P3 contracts. The research will be published as a white paper that provides an overview of force majeure clauses in P3 contracts, force majeure challenges in the context of COVID-19, the relationship between force majeure clauses and insurance, as well as lessons learned and best practices. P3 professionals from six states attended the presentation and provided valuable feedback to the research team. The BATIC Institute plans to share the final white paper with the COP when it is finalized.

The P3 COP provides a forum for public sector professionals with relevant experience and responsibilities to share best practices and to discuss industry trends and research related to public-private partnerships.
